Access Road Update

news update

26 January 2024

We will shortly be starting construction of the first section of the new access road (shown in yellow on the plan) from Spratsgate Lane roundabout through Parcels 2A, 2B & 2C.  In addition, there will be some earthworks (within the green areas either side of the new road) to create the new landscape areas and provide surface water drainage. These works will be carried out by Bathurst Development’s (BDL) selected contractors, Montel.

Yellow Lne shows route of the first section of the Access Road through Phase two.

We wanted to make you aware that there may be some disruption, such as noise or dust, which may be most noticed by local residents with homes on Berkeley Road and some parts of Alexander Drive, on the northern boundary of The Steadings, but we would assure you that we will seek to keep this to a minimum. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause.

A Construction Management Plan (CMP) has been agreed with the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to limit the hours of operation on the site and provide for noise monitoring throughout the works.  A copy of the CMP is avaialble on the link below:

The road construction work is expected to be completed by the end of November 2024 with the final planting and landscaping works extending into the next planting season in Spring 2025.
