Bathurst Development Limited (BDL) is delighted to announce Harper Crewe as Joint Development Partner
Bathurst Development Limited (BDL) is delighted to announce Harper Crewe as Joint Development Partner for the first phase of The Steadings (formerly known as Land at Chesterton) and Ben Pentreath as lead Architect working in conjunction with Master Planning Architects JTP.
The appointment of Harper Crewe and Ben Pentreath followed an extensive selection process after Cotswold District Council granted outline planning permission in the Spring of 2019. Harper Crewe has proven that it shares BDL’s vision for a sustainable, welcoming and attractive new neighbourhood for Cirencester that future generations will wish to live in, enjoy and be proud of.
Ben Pentreath is regarded as one of the foremost architects working on high quality legacy developments across the United Kingdom. The team assembled by Harper Crewe have a wealth of experience and include Fabrik who will lead on Landscape Architecture alongside Andrew Cameron & Associates for Urban and Highway design. BDL will retain the existing core professional team who have taken the project through the planning process.
Phase 1A located between Somerford Road and Wilkinson Road will comprise approximately 75 homes of which 15 will be affordable. BDL will consult in the late Spring/early Summer to publicise its joint vision for the first phase and hopes to agree detailed reserved planning matters with Cotswold District Council so that on-site construction work can commence in early 2021. BDL will seek to appoint further development partners in respect of the main Steadings site during 2020.
In addition to on-site facilities BDL intends to create a marketing suite for the development close to the offices of the Bathurst Estate in order that people living and working in Cirencester can easily call in and discuss the scheme should they wish.
