Fire Station Roundabout and Midland Road Love Lane Junction. Update No. 5 – January 2025
Midland Road / Love Lane Junction
The required improvements works to Midland Road and the Love Lane/Chesterton Lane junction were complete before Christmas, with resurfacing and white line painting taking place overnight in January.
All traffic management measures have been removed from these areas.
We hope local businesses and residents will benefit from the improved layout.
Main Fire Station Roundabout Works
Work to the main roundabout closest to the Fire Station is progressing. Safe removal of asbestos in the early stages had caused some initial delays. As work progressed Montel have also needed to relocate some utilities.
However, an attenuation pond is being created under challenging weather conditions. Works to the inner lane of the roundabout and improvements to the splitter lanes on entry and exit are underway and progressing well.
It is currently anticipated that the completion of the works to the main roundabout will move to Summer 2025. We will provide further updates each month.
