The Detailed Design Code for landscaping which has been approved by the Local Planning Authority set out a series of objectives which these proposals aim to achieve. These include:
- The retention of existing woodland and hedgerows
- The creation of optimum conditions for a new wildlife zone with minimal public access
- A site-wide footway and cycleway loop
- Establishing open woodland
- Including a Bespoke Play Area (BPA) and a Local Equipped Area for Play (LEAP)/ Local Area for Play (LAP) play area
- Ensure existing landscape constraints, e.g. the overhead pylons are accommodated
Each area has been carefully planned to deliver its own objectives. A key overarching objective of these proposals is to add value to the area, by creating green open spaces that are accessible improve and enhance ecology through habitat creation and carefully selected tree-planting schemes, providing play areas for children to safely play.
