Placemaking and community will be the foundations of life at The Steadings, helping to deliver high quality and sensitively designed spaces that provide an attractive, welcoming and healthy environment.
The Steadings will become an integrated, sustainable and complementary part of Cirencester, not only at the start but for future generations.
The housing provided includes housing for the elderly, affordable homes and private market houses. In addition, The Steadings will be an inclusive space, prioritising community health and wellbeing with dedicated space for a new health centre to support the community and green spaces for the benefit of people and wildlife.
The traditional and Grade II listed farm buildings in the heart of the site will influence the character of this area, and their refurbishment will act as the focal point of The Steadings with the new neighbourhood square.
The Community Management Trust (CMT) which will own, maintain and manage the green spaces and open spaces, the community buildings, children’s play areas, sports pitches and other assets at The Steadings, will also be critical in ensuring The Steadings remains a sustainable, welcoming and attractive neighbourhood for everyone to enjoy long into the future.
