The Steadings, Roadworks Update – Local Road Closures

I am writing to update you on our programme of roadworks taking place in the local area. These works form part of investments in wider infrastructure provided as part of The Steadings, as well as works necessary for progression of the development.

Our website will be kept up to date with regular updates (www.thesteadingscirencester.co.uk), and we will also issue these updates via email.

Please find below a summary of the works expected over the next two months.

Somerford Road & Wilkinson Road – Full Road Closure

The junction of Somerford Road and Wilkinson Road will be fully closed to all traffic for two weeks from Monday 14 July to Friday 25 July to allow for new drainage pipes to be laid beneath Wilkinson Road.  Local diversions will be in place but access to and from Love Lane industrial estate will be via the fire station roundabout.

While the road is closed, our contractors will be working to complete any outstanding items within the highway.

The works specifically include the resurfacing of pavements, and the surfacing of entrances to the HarperCrewe development, and some remedial works.

Burford Road / Cherrytree Lane – Partial Road Closure

On Burford Road, from Wednesday 29 June to Friday 1 July, various works are being undertaken. An access chamber needs to be reset, and CCTV cameras are being installed at the junction.

As a result, traffic management measures will be put in place, including a single lane closure for traffic leaving town with a local diversion via Cherrytree Lane.
