As part of Bathurst Development Limited’s commitments as master developer, The Steadings is delivering a number of improvements and new infrastructure projects (including investing in education, healthcare, sports, leisure, and highways) across the local area for the benefit of the wider community in and around Cirencester.
The investment and infrastructure improvements are set out within the s106 agreement, which can be viewed here: Resources: s106 agreement.
Below are some examples of recent projects….
Chesterton Lane crossing
The new zebra crossing now provides those walking along this road with a much-needed, safe crossing point.
Improvements at Burford Road at the Cherrytree Lane crossroads
The new slip road now provides a left lane turn-off, improving capacity at this junction and reducing queuing.
New roundabout and improved foot and cycle routes
Spratsgate Lane and Wilkinson Road
The new roundabout provides the main eastern access to The Steadings together with improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists that will connect with the new routes to be provided within the site.
Somerford Road junction
The pavement has been extended and resurfaced too.
Siddington CoE Primary School legacy building
Funding and delivering the new building at Siddington. It is planned that a new primary school will be built at The Steadings, but initially the school will be hosted at Siddington.
Fire Station roundabout and Love Lane / Midland Road junction upgrades
The roundabout on the dual carriageway in Cirencester, closest to the Fire Station, along with the mini-roundabout at the junction of Love Lane and Midland Road, is undergoing a major upgrade. The enhanced layout of the roundabout and immediate area will improve traffic flow, improve safety, reduce queues and the associated pollution of congestion, and help mitigate flooding.
