Bathurst Development Limited (BDL) has been established to deliver The Steadings.
BDL’s role as master developer is to work closely with each parcel developer for The Steadings, whom we carefully select, to ensure the wider vision is delivered, managed and maintained.
We also work closely with Cirencester Town Council, Cotswold District Council, Gloucestershire County Council, and other organisations, to ensure the vision set out is delivered for the new neighbourhood.

BDL places strong emphasis on our stewardship role over the land, the surrounding communities and most pertinently, the legacy of the future community at The Steadings.
Our vision for The Steadings is to be a sustainable, welcoming and attractive neighbourhood for Cirencester that future generations will enjoy and be proud of.
BDL will provide upfront payments or endow the Community Management Trust (CMT) with assets to ensure it is financially viable during the early years of the development before a critical mass of dwellings is on site and paying into the fund.
The Steadings will deliver a number of offsite highways improvements which will improve traffic flows in and around Cirencester. These have been based on the results of extensive traffic modelling and agreed with a number of statutory bodies including Gloucestershire County Council.
The Steadings will encourage people out of their cars and provide funding for improving walking, cycling and bus services, between the new neighbourhood and Cirencester town centre and other key local destinations.
This includes the provision of dedicated controlled at‑grade pedestrian/cycling facilities across the Ring Road, which will benefit all those travelling around the town on foot or bicycle. Tactile paving, dropped kerbs and widening existing facilities within the network will be introduced where possible.
