Cirencester Roadworks Update
We apologise for a delay in our infrastructure programme which occurred at the end of last week.
The company delivering the materials for the new road surface experienced a critical power outage which effectively closed the plant. This outage lasted several days, so the team was unable to dispatch and deliver the materials needed for completing the works on time.
Our team investigated alternative supply options but unfortunately none were available for the specialist material being used.
This means Spratsgate Lane has been delayed by one more week and will now reopen on Friday 3rd December. We apologise for this extended delay and for the inconvenience caused but unfortunately this is beyond our control.
As you are aware, we had also planned to close Chesterton Lane for a week from 29th November to complete the road surfacing in this area. The planned diversion route necessary for this closure includes Spratsgate Lane, so there will be a knock-on delay to this closure of one week. These works will now be happening next week, from Monday to Friday.
