The Steadings

Temporary Fencing for Archaeology Surveys and Investigations.

news update

Temporary fencing has been erected to secure a working area for archaeology surveys and investigations.

From early November 2024 further archaeological work will be carried out, which will involve intrusive investigations on areas of interest previously identified by archaeologist. The surveys form part of a phased series of archaeological investigations as we move through the site.

During September/October usual hedge and grass trimming will also have taken place.

Access to the public footpath remains open.

  • The purple line on the drawing shows the Definitive Line of the public footpath.
  • The blue line on the drawing represents the position of the fencing.
  • The fencing is offset to accommodate a 1.5m minimum width for the public footpath.
